A few people have been rather confused when they’ve arrived here, wondering whether or not this is a news site or a personal blog. Well, it’s both. If you’re looking for the most up to minute news about science fiction or games, this site will disappoint. There’s only a certain amount of news that one human being can cover, and I miss a lot. While I will highlight some news stories of interest, I hope to have a large amount of my own original content.

The other thing I’d like to encourage my readers to do is post comments. Even if the feedback is bad, it’s feedback and I will take it constructively. Recently, I took a position at a writer at Sankaku Comlex, and I admit that the experience did toughen me up considerably in taking criticism. It’s also enforced upon me that I need to get my writing tighter and pay attention to more details.

Games, anime, science fiction and fantasy is sort of a compromise for me. While I love these topics, my background is of a hobbyist rather than someone involved in the industry. I won’t speak from a perspective of expertise because basically, I’m not an expert but a player, viewer and reader much like the rest of you.

While initially I was active as a blogger, posting up to 6 items daily, I decided to scale this back. I noticed that I was posting a lot of quantity but the quality of my writing had degraded immensely. Until I can confidently write quickly and with quality, I will probably keep my updates modest.

Anyhow, I look forward to meeting you. Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself if you’re a first time commentator. I’ve recently changed the comments so that comments appear right away without the need for moderation from me. I found that set up facilitates discussion better, even though it encourages a lot more spam posts.

If you need to reach me for any reason, contact me at jinstevens (at) gmail.com. I’m open to link exchanges and all that as long as it compatible with the subject matter on Netharuka.
