Banned Pokemon clips

Ten Exceptionally Inappropriate Pokemon Videos has been posted by Unreality. I wasn’t really that surprised to find that there were parts of Pokemon that were edited for the American audience. Japanese cultural sensitivities are quite different and what they allow in anime (which isn’t just for kids in Japan) would certainly shock many conservative American parents (while many Americans would just probably just laugh it off). I cherry picked three of them, but for the rest, go see them on Unreality.

Err… What’s wrong with the golf club? (and all other things to that matter) O_o Censors are crazy (-_-)
Is that how a normal child should be stroking a golf club? Look at it again. Doesn’t it remind you something?
Also, you have to remember that Pokemon in the US was aimed at children. A transexual James and a groping Pikachu would raise the ire of the adult parents watching the show with their kids. Although, probably most kids wouldn’t understand the implications of such things.

It’s more of a symbol of ignorance/distancing herself of others. As in “If I try really hard to persuade myself you don’t exist”.
US has kind of strange politics regards the children. I even heard some ridiculous accusations of mothers regards their children in the US… If you have a mother you probably saw that they have “something” anyway. Besides, the more you hide from children… you know that.
But or well, I heard they censored even a shadow in Sailor Moon, so I don’t expect anything less anymore
