Girls’ Generation’s Jessica Promotes Dungeon & Fighter
A charming video was recently aired in Korea which features Jessica of the K-pop band Girls’ Generation fighting off a monster attacking Seoul. The commercial promotes the multi-player video game Dungeon & Fighter, a game which is pretty much unknown outside of Korea. Although if they continued to show cute videos such this in the United States and elsewhere, the popularity of Dungeon & Fighter is sure to increase.

To Aru Majutsu Final Episode
Episode 24 of To Aru Majutsu no Index was pretty satisfying. Looking back at the anime, I’d give the series probably a B+, with a number of story arcs that would rate much higher. I enjoyed the initial arc best and any story arc that involved Touma fighting magical foes, which fortunately was the bulk of the episodes. The series did have some duds however. I didn’t find the two episode arc starring the Accelerator and the loli Biri Biri that interesting nor did I care much about the one where everyone switched bodies. However, like any good anime series, the series ended on a high note with some of the best coming in the last four episodes. Read more
Sheva Resident Evil 5 costume
Like the previous versions before it, Resident Evil 5 sports unlockable costumes. Sheva, the female protagonist, can be fitted with a costume that pays tribute (or depending on your viewpoint, exploits) her West African heritage. The tribal costume is decidedly different than the typical school girl uniform or bikinis that are the commonly used in similar games. Who knows, maybe more “traditional” fare will show up as future downloadable content.
I really like her African costume; however, I’m a little worried that the sexy unlockable duds will spawn the Resident Evil 5 is racist issue all over again. Get over it people. Would it been better if the protagonist had been blond and white skinned? Further, female gaming heroines have been clad in a lot worse. Sheva’s jungle girl outfit is actually tame in comparison to others I’ve seen. Read more
Amazing Metroid cosplay
I usually don’t feature cosplay on this site. It’s not really my interest, though I appreciate it when it’s well done. However, I’m making an exception for these two cosplayers who dress as Samus Aran of Metroids fame extremely well. How well? Well one of them crafted her custom Metroid armor over 6 months with a material cost of $350! The costume weighs 23 pounds and lit by 73 battery powered LEDs. That’s dedication to your hobby. Sexy for FIFA Online
FIFA Online 2 is massively multi-player soccer game based on FIFA 07 video game. Originally released in Korea in 2006, the game has since become popular in other countries, particularly in Asia. A localized version set for SE Asia was released this January. With the release came a set of pictures of model Ayawara (not sure if that’s her real name) gamely posing with a soccer ball. The pictures doesn’t really have much to do with FIFA Online 2 (well, apart from the gold soccer ball), but I don’t the mostly male audience of FIFA Online 2 care. Take a look. Read more
Sexy sells Need for Speed

One of the oldest techniques in advertising is to use a sexy girl to sell a product. However, there are times when using sex appeal to sell a product is a bit over the top. In 2007, Electronic Arts was roundly criticized for using a pair of topless models, Becky Rule and Amii Grove, to sell Need for Speed, their Teen rated racing game. Facing harsh criticism, Electronic Arts withdrew the ad and apologized for their mistake, stating only that the ad escaped their vetting process.
Well, it looks like their vetting process needs some refinement, because they’ve done it again. This time they’ve used model Angelia Filipiak (aka Triana Iglesias) in yet another topless advertisement for the latest game in their Need for Speed series. No word from EA as of yet if they regret it this time too.

I’ve been a fan of Olivia Munn for quite some time. Not only is she sexy and funny, but I enjoy the fact that she doesn’t take herself seriously. In Olivia’s latest caper, she cosplays superbly as Street Fighter’s Chun Li while hawking kung-fu resistant panties. And unlike Kristen Kreuk, star of the debacle that is the latest Street Fighter film, Olivia actually has the thighs to pull off the role convincingly (even if she’s just doing it for laughs). Marisa Miller for Guitar Hero
Looking to kick its commercials up a notch, the publisher of Guitar Hero has procured the services of Sports Illustrated swimsuit and Victoria Secret model, Marisa Miller to star in its newest commercial. Details are about as scant as Maria’s outfit. Judging from the pictures, Marisa won’t be wearing a man’s shirt (and little else) like fellow model and Victoria Secret alum, Heidi Klum, but so far, I have no complaints about their costume selection.
BannedinHollywood procured these rough photographs (probably taken from a camera phone) of Marisa filming. Marisa looks amazing, and I’m looking forward to the commercial already.

Gogo Yubari for Resident Evil 5
Japanese actress Chiaki Kuriyama stars in a commercial for Capcom’s Resident Evil 5. Kuriyama who is well known for her portrayal of Gogo Yubari in the Kill Bill movie series, has been a long time fan of the video game series. The clip is amusing and I’m sure that if you just happen to get Chiaki-san to your house all you’ll do is play video games with her. Read more
Japanese booth babes are cute!
While big gaming expos like E3 are still mum about whether or not they allow booth babes back on the floor, booth babes remain a fixture in Japanese gaming conventions. At the AOU 2009 event held in Chiba, Japan, cosplaying booth babes were in full attendance. Unlike their American counterparts, the Japanese booth companions went for cute rather than sexy.
