Booth babes are gamers too
So the big question remaining for this year’s E3 electronics show is whether or not booth babes will make a return on the show floor. However, in anticipation that booth babes will be allowed back on the floor, the aptly named, Charima +2 modeling agency, recently sent a calendar featuring their models to some select clients. Kotaku posted the story on Friday and it’s worth a read if you’re interested in seeing highlights from the calendar.
I scanned the story, looked at the calendar and didn’t think much of it. On a lark, I went ahead and looked at the Charisma +2 modeling site itself. I was expecting galleries and portfolios of models in bikinis and sexy clothing, but what I wasn’t expecting were the bios.
The bios blew me away. The gals aren’t just beautiful. Many of them are also hardcore gamers.

I thought that these were actually some of the sexiest shots on the Charisma +2 site: pretty girls playing video games.
Take a glance at the bio for Livia, one of the models on the site:
Gaming experience: I have a gaming PC which is in need of an upgrade. I don’t mind building PCs myself, it’s just the installing of all the programs that I lose patience with! I also have an xbox 360 and a DS. I love my DS, it’s my saving grace on long trips. I love to play elitebeat Agents on it the most. My passion really lies in FPS games, especially Unreal Tournament and Quake. But I do have a very weak spot for Diablo 2, and I can hardly wait for the release of Diablo 3
Competitive gaming: It is something that I am totally in love with. I love to compete and I have been doing so in gaming since 2003, when I played in the World Cyber Games qualifier in New Zealand for Unreal Tournament 2003. Following that, I played a lot of Unreal Tournament competitively and it was a natural trangression over to Quake 4. For Quake 4, myself and 3 other girlz 0f destruction teammates moved into a gaming house in Sweden in 2006 so that we could focus on practicing full-time for one year.
That sounds pretty hardcore to me. Still not convinced, then take a look at her video blog:
Now, I understand why Charisma +2 would try to beef up their model’s gaming cred. It’s just good business strategy, since many of their clients are game publishers and development houses. However, their gaming bios are so good, they’re almost overkill. They have among their stable of models, several professional gamers who can stand up to the scrutiny of the most cynical hardcore gamer.

Her name is Alexandra and yes, she plays video games.
I’ve long known that not only women play video games, but that many of them are quite attractive. However, there is a long and standing Internet based belief that such women are as rare as real life unicorns. Well, I think Charisma +2’s portfolio of models pretty much shatters that myth. So the next time you talk down to the booth babe next you, don’t be surprised if she manages to kick your butt extra hard at your next tournament.
