No Lich King for Chinese

The Chinese government has rejected approval for World of Warcraft’s popular expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. Wrath of the Lich King, which broke sales records worldwide, has apparently a number of features which the Chinese government find objectionable.
In their latest application, the popular Death Knight hero class, skeleton-like characters and a city raid were all removed to satisfy Chinese regulation and censorship standards. Strangely, Chinese regulators find skeletons particularly objectionable as an earlier application forced Blizzard to remove all skeletons (enemies, corpses, etc.) from the Chinese version of the game.
Blizzard recently removed a link from their web page to the modified Chinese version of the game, possibly signaling that it no longer considers the Chinese version as authentic as the versions played elsewhere. World of Warcraft is extremely popular in mainland China and was one of the games that prompted the Chinese government to enforce time limits on play.
When it is finally released in China, Wrath of the Lich King will still be popular despite the changes. When Chinese gamers will be able to get their hands on the game is anyone’s guess.
