Many female gamers bisexual
For those of you men out there hoping to meet the girl gamer of your dreams in one of the myriad of MMOs out there, there’s good news. According to Scott Caplan, lead researcher at the University of Delaware, analysis of 60 TB of Everquest 2 data given to them by Sony revealed that female gamers compose up to 40% of the general gaming population. Now the bad news: many of those female gamers aren’t interested in the opposite sex.
Caplan theorizes that women who conform to traditional gender roles are put off by activities seen as masculine, whereas women who reject traditional gender roles are more likely to play MMOs. An accompanying survey to the study revealed an unusually high level of bisexuality among the women who took part in the study - over five times higher than the general population. Read more

Scientists have recently begun analyzing 60 TBs of Everquest 2 data given to them by Sony. In analyzing the biggest data set of human interactions ever made publicly available, scientists have already come up with a number of interesting and a few amazing findings. The data includes about 4 years worth of server logs of 400,000 players and includes follow up demographic surveys of the players. Read more
