Jed I Knight

Geeky parents can do a lot of mean things to their kids. Apparently (don’t know if this is true or not, since I wasn’t able to verify it), this boy’s name is the groantastic, Jed I Knight. I’ve met some people in my time with some fairly unfortunate names: Shanda Lear, Krystal Ball, Harold “Harry” Bottoms. However, this one ranks up there naming your kid Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris. I’m sure some bullies out there will just get a kick of beating up a real life “Jedi”.
While I think the naming choice is horrible, there’s some folks who disagree. The folks at the Star Wars blog labeled the name (sarcastically I think) as a win. The folks at Failblog who broke the story obviously thinks the name is a fail.
So what do you think?

The Today show recently featured the New York Jedi, a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who use their light sabers skills to workout. Their site has scads of information about how to join, class schedules, press clippings and what they’re about. It sure beats playing with your light saber at home while making fake bzzz bzzz noises by yourself. Now, you can go to a gym and have a whole bunch of people do the same thing with you.
