Star Trek porn parody

So apparently, Hustler magazine, is hoping the cash in on the upcoming Star Trek film by making a porn parody of it, and releasing it on the same day. When it was first announced, the movie hadn’t even been cast yet, but getting a cast together and assembling a few props doesn’t seem to be much of a barrier for a porn filmmaker. As Io9 reports, the casting seems complete. Read more
Star Wars Paso Doble
It’s amusing to see Star Wars music put to different mediums. I’m no judge of ballroom dance, but I think the two did pretty well. I just wish they got the lore right. I wonder if the two dancers know that Darth Vader and Princess Leia are father and daughter and sort of an inappropriate pairing for a passionate Latin dance. Anyways, take a look at the video:

Star Wars My Little Pony
That’s the sexiest My Little Pony figure I’ve ever seen. The slave Leia pony and the others below are the work of Mari Kasurinen who’s done a number of My Little Pony Star Wars adaptations. I’ve picked a few that I really liked, but definitely go check out her deviantART page or her website for more adaptations.
I’m particularly found of Carbonite Han Pony below:

Jed I Knight

Geeky parents can do a lot of mean things to their kids. Apparently (don’t know if this is true or not, since I wasn’t able to verify it), this boy’s name is the groantastic, Jed I Knight. I’ve met some people in my time with some fairly unfortunate names: Shanda Lear, Krystal Ball, Harold “Harry” Bottoms. However, this one ranks up there naming your kid Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris. I’m sure some bullies out there will just get a kick of beating up a real life “Jedi”.
While I think the naming choice is horrible, there’s some folks who disagree. The folks at the Star Wars blog labeled the name (sarcastically I think) as a win. The folks at Failblog who broke the story obviously thinks the name is a fail.
So what do you think?
Terminator ending redone

So if you’ve been paying attention to spoilers on the Internet, there’s been significant leaks about about the ending of new Terminator Salvation movie. The big reveal from the movie was supposed to be that John Connor (Christian Bale’s character) dies and that Marcus, the good terminator, takes up the mantle of John Connor and fights on behalf of humans, realizing that John Connor’s death would be a crushing blow.
Well that ending isn’t going to be the one used. According to Movie Hole, a new ending for the movie was shot because of the Internet leaks. The new ending is supposedly 180 degrees different (whatever that means) from the leaked ending and has supposedly tested better with audiences. I’m sure that will launch a new round of speculation about what the new reveal for the movie will be.
I’m looking forward to this movie a little more now since my imagination is now running wild with potential endings.

Watchmen movie reviewed
So I’ve just come back from a midnight viewing of the Watchmen. I sat through 2 hours and 40 minutes wondering why the film couldn’t be a little shorter. It doesn’t mean I didn’t like the film; I did. However, as someone who isn’t familiar with the original work, the plot was complicated and somewhat overwhelming. It’s the same sort of feeling that you get when you’re offered an extremely expensive and well regarded red wine. You sip it, it swirls around your mouth and you feel somewhat badly that you aren’t immediately impressed by it. You want to like it more, but your own inexperience lets you down. Read more
Terminator Salvation

Somehow in my latest wrap-up of movies, I omitted Terminator Salvation. It wasn’t intentional. As someone who covers the sci-fi scene, I generally focus on those things, good and bad, that attracts my attention. For as big as this movie is, Terminator surprisingly has little in the way of unofficial press coverage - people just aren’t writing about this as much as they are about other movies. I’ve been inundated with articles and news items for Star Trek and Watchmen but Terminator Salvation coverage has been comparatively insignificant.
Terminator Salvation will be in theaters at around the same time as Star Trek, giving sci-fi fans a lot of options in the month of May. I wonder how much the official and grass roots marketing effort has been stunted by the now infamous outburst made by Christian Bale on the set. If you haven’t heard of it, take a look below. The audio was probably taken out of context but it just doesn’t put Christian Bale in the best of light. Read more
Of all shows to remake, V?!?

It’s really going to happen. I’ve been following the development of this series for a little while now but have hesitated to write about it since it seemed more like a hoax than something plausible. I was pretty surprised when they got Scott Peters, executive producer of 4400, to take on this project. And as it’s been reported in a number of places, ABC has given Scott the green light to do a pilot. Read more
Josh Whedon’s Dollhouse

I honestly didn’t know that this was a science fiction show. Dollhouse sounds more like one of those shows about modeling aimed at young teenage girls. I thought that Josh Whedon, the producer of this show and other sci-fi favorites like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, took a 180 degree turn with his creative interests. But I was wrong, it’s a bona fide sci-fi series, which is set to air on the same night as the Terminator Chronicles. Read more

There’s been a lot of cool art and images that have been posted today. As opposed to writing a post on each one (and subject you to my boring writing
), I decided it would be just simpler to post them and let the images stand on their own.
Halo Warthog. Yep, a real life replica of the vehicle from your favorite Xbox FPS.
